Tapers notes: How I found out about Gigi is one of those dumb luck stories. I was at a concert in the park this night, and the show wasn't going well. It was very windy, people around me were very talkative, and the sound system wasn't working quite right. So, I gave up about 45 minutes in to the show and started walking back to my car. On the way, I heard someone singing on the patio of a local restaurant and was intrigued. She was playing the ukelele, which definitely caught my attention, as most solo musicians tend to play the guitar. I stopped to listen for a a few minutes, and while there looked up who it was on the venue's website. Turns out she plays a lot around my area, and I made plans to see her the next chance I got. That was this show, and I'm so glad I discovered Gigi, she's a great talent, and an even better person. I've seen her a few times since this, and would encourage anyone in the Twin Cities area to check her out if you get a chance, she's well worth your time.
